             Steamy, sexy, unpredictable, and with humor thrown into the mix you wont go wrong with this read. Samanthe never disappoints especially with this new series. Hard Compromise is book number two in the series, it grabs you right away and won’t let go until the last word in the book. Well not even then because I can’t wait for book three.

            We meet Laurie Peterson in book one (Compromising Her Position), she is the best friend of Chelsea Wayne and owner of the bakery Baby Cakes. When reading book one I wanted to know more about Laurie, she seamed like a great friend and support for Chelsea, but also fun too. In the first chapter you get a taste of who Laurie is and why, also we get to meet Ethan Booker (YUM) who is charged to look after her. Laurie didn’t have an easy care free life, she has had to work hard for everything she has. This is a problem when she looks at Ethan “Booker” because he comes from a very wealthy family. She judges him on that and this leads to some fun/heated bickering between them.

            Booker is the Sheriff in town and with this title he has earned through hard work and climbing the proverbial ladder gives him great pride in himself. He didn’t use his family influence or money to get where he is, in fact he has everything he has wanted out of life, well except the one women who has evaded him for ten years. Finally Booker says it’s time, he planes to take what he wants no matter what. Watching Laurie from a distance, not being able to touch her, taste her, have her be his is in the past. His New Year’s resolution is simple: Make Laurie want him so bad she realizes she can’t live without him. You have to love a determined man, and this book is full of sexy scenes between these too. But can Booker convince Laurie it’s more than lust between them? That they could shatter every rule she has or pre-conserved notion that happily ever after is only in fairy tales?         Paramedic Hunter has goals he must reach! When he was a teenager starting out college these goals were derailed by something he had no control over. Since then he has become a bang up Paramedic that people love and trust. He has filled out all the paperwork and told everyone he is going to Medical School, nothing can stop him now.
  Madison is a screw up, she can’t seem to get anything right since her grandmothers death. She thinks she is on the right track when she gets the nerve up to leave her drug addicted boyfriend. She has arraigned for a job transfer and knows she has enough time to get money together before her baby is born to get a new apartment. All is going according to plan until… She goes into labor after an accident.
Not only is this were our two characters meet but it’s where the story really takes off running. How many of us have had times in our lives when NOTHING seems to be going according to plan? I know I have. Madison has an avalanche of events that collide and really make her only see the bad. Something about her draws Hunter in, he just can’t walk away until he knows she and her baby are alright. This leads him to invite Madison into his home and life, He is still thinking nothing will change. His idea is to help her until she can get her own place than he can start medical school just like planed.
Life is not always neat and tidy, and it rarely goes as planed. Hunter and Madison begin fast and become close, but someone or something is not wanting them to stay together. They are pulled apart and Hunter believes his dreams are gone forever, love and his second shot at medical school. They both have to figure out what is most important before it’s too late. MY REVIEW:

            Get ready for this new book from Samanthe Beck in your own way but here is how I did it. I loaded my copy on my kindle, snuggled under my covers and grabbed a box of tissues. That’s right this one has elements in it that pull at the heart strings. Samanthe combines two people that are very different and one doesn’t want anything to do with relationships. Beau has been hurt big time when he loses his wife and daughter in a car crash and has no desire to re-live that kind of pain. Savannah is a free spirit that has plans to see the world and make a name for herself in the art world. When a misunderstanding from both of their parents has them “engaged” Beau asks Savannah to keep up the act since she is leaving soon anyway. The “white lie” seams harmless enough until the wedding minded mommas get started planning. The dress, the venue and date all are planed and Savannah starts feeling guilty. Beau just wants his family to stop warring about him; the problem starts when against his will his heart becomes involved. Feeding the attraction between them is one thing but when Beau starts thinking about Savannah leaving and it bothers him? That’s a little too complicated for him and he wants out! Savannah needs a man that chooses to be with her and when she realizes Beau is still too stuck in the past she will risk more than her heart if she says goodbye. What happens will bring tears to your eyes and give the skeptics a run for their money.

            I loved how Samanthe made the situations real. The emotional stunting that takes place in Beau’s life is felt in the pages. You will want to reach through the story to give both Savanna and Beau a hug. Yet the heat between them makes the glass fog up and I swear my kindle started to smoke! The way this story is blended shows that not all love stories are full of fluff and passion. Real life can be messy and complicated but if you are willing to fight for each other than each day you are together means you have won the battle. Please get your copy today because if you don’t you will regret it, trust me!

Book One: Undercover Lover

All their talks and dances give him a nagging feeling that something about her is not right. Once he realizes the twins have switched identities all becomes clear, but the killer is after “Stacy”, this means Kylie is in danger. Keeping her close when she keeps pushing him away is not easy. Trever wants to catch the killer and capture Kylie’s heart, Kylie is determined to keep their relationship purely physical. Who will win this fight and will it happen before the killer turns his anger onto Kylie instead of the men that she dances for?

                From the first paragraph, I knew Samanthe had a winner on her hands, but all the stripping and private dances did have me pause. This was the first book I have read with a stripper as the main character, but Kylie being a virgin and dancing in a club was too intriguing to stop reading. Samanthe gave good descriptions and I could “see” into the world Kylie was trying to fit in. I loved reading about the relationships Kylie was able to build and that Trever saw her even through he disguise. This as a book I started reading because I wanted to read book 3 but had to start at the beginning (my preference, all three can be stand alones but they are better in order). Kylie and Trever are a great match and worth the read, I was not disappointed!

 

Book Two: Wicked Games

                This is a novella telling the story of Stacy Roberts and Detective Ian Ford, Trever McCade’s partner. Stacy doesn’t want a steady relationship because she is waiting for the shoe to drop. Every time her life is going as planed someone she loves bales on her, the only one she can count on is herself and her twin Kylie. Ian loves Stacy, he understands why she keeps pushing him away but when she brakes things off completely he doesn’t give up. He gives her the space she says she needs, until a death threat is written to Stacy. At a huge Halloween party their passion and longing collides in a back room. Stacy gives in to Ian and her desire for him. When the emotions get to much she escapes, blending right into the crowd and possibly into the killers hands. Can Ian save her before he loses Stacy forever?

                This novella was a fast read for me because I was on the edge of my seat wondering who wanted Stacy dead. I wanted Ian and her to get together but, for me it was the murder and threats that grabbed me. If you like a true thriller this one is good for you, there is love, anger, passion, and possible death involved. Samanthe wrote her screens in a way that it was like watching a move, you could see the acts being preformed and you wanted to yell at the characters to hurry up, watch out, and be careful!   

  

Book Three: Falling for the Marine

                This is the book that started me on my journey to read this series. Samanthe Beck posted a teaser and I was obsessed. Every time I tried to read another book that scene she posted popped in my head, like a song that won’t get out of your head. I had to read the book to get the curiosity to stop. It took me longer then I wanted but I finished it! In amongst college classes, starting a website, my girls, and everything life was throwing at me I did finish it. I give it five plus stars for drawing me in and not letting go. I have found that Samanthe Beck is very good at this, I have yet to read one of her books that doesn’t keep me turning pages.

                This is the story of Marine Michael McCade, Trever’s younger brother. One common thread between this book and Undercover Lover is the determination of the McCade brothers. When they find the women they love, they go to extreme lengths to prove to them they are not going anywhere. This is the same thing with Michael. He meets Chloe Kincaid in a very unexpected way, that imprints her on his memory. She is not his normal type, and he is everything Chloe swore to stay away from. Passion and fire can not be denied for long however. They problems occur when Michael wants Chloe to stay with him for more then just their physical connection. Chloe doesn’t want to stay in one spot, let alone get involved with a military man. She tried to tell this to Michael but nothing ever went the way she planed. For instance she didn’t plan on losing her job, being forced to accept Michaels offer to live with him, or having to pretend to be engaged to save Michael from being court marshaled. Her life is a mess, but even during our biggest messes great things can happen, that is if Chloe will let herself embrace them. This book is a rollercoaster of fun, Chloe is full of spunk and brings straight laced Michael out of his shell. The best of these books so far!

 

***There is a number four book to this series, Best Man with Benefits, but this is also a part of The Wedding Dare series. I have not read it yet but as soon as I do you will see the review posted! This is youngest McCade brother Logan’s story.***

MY Review: 

                                   

            The third book in Samanthe’s Private Pleasures series is full of things one should never do. The biggest for Ginny is to not fall for her competitions sexy mysterious son, Shaun Buchanan. When Ginny decides to run for mayor she knows it will be a fight but she didn’t count on the complication passion would cause. Shaun Buchanan is a former Navy Seal, he was trained to stay quest and only be seen when he wanted to be. He has come home but as hard as he in trying to stay out of the limelight and away from family politics, he can’t. Ginny has drawn him in and he can’t resist her. With the campaign in full swing Ginny has made enemy’s even she doesn’t know about. Shaun wants no needs to keep her safe. What starts as a quick one night stand turns into a passion and love neither were counting and neither want.

            Samanthe’s writing is brilliant; she has introduced all her characters from the first book. Giving us bits and pieces and then with others huge chunks. Regardless of the information we crave their story, we need to know that the girl who wanted no attachments, but was fiercely loyal to her friends got her guy. Ginny was slowly introduced to us along the way making a splash in her own book. Now let’s not forget the introduction we get of the Buchanan’s up until this book. I don’t know about you but I was not a fan! So, to have another Buchanan show up and win our Ginny,  it was perfect! Way to go Samanthe for throwing your curve balls again in this story. I can’t wait to read what you have next!
