My Review:
Toni has always written stories
that grab and make us want more. This book did that for me in the first few
chapters. I am a fan of intertwining book, when we get to ‘see’ past characters
we grew to love and Toni delivers this. You get to find out how the Destiny
crew is doing and anyone who has not read those books, it alright you have time
;-) You can read then to know who certain people are but it is not a must, Toni
writes so well and explains flawlessly who people are that this could be a stand-alone(not
my recommendation though).
In her second Coral Cove book, we get
to know more about Reece Donovan who was one of my favorite Coral Cove residents
from the first book. Owner of the Happy Crab motel and born and raised in the
town Reece is happy to keep his life just as it is. Unfortunately Camille
Thompson works for the company that wants his motel. They have made a lot of
offers but none as extreme as what Camille comes to tell him about. She is the
one the company sends in when they have “Holdouts” people who refuse to sell.
She is good at her job and has never taken more than a few hours to close a
deal, until she meets Reece. He is determined to keep his run down, no guest
motel and she has to figure out why.
As
Camille or Cami as Reece calls her to annoy her, gets to know Reece more she
starts to see why it’s better to close early and run. Reece opens Cami up to
emotions she though buried and beyond her. She wonders what her life is really
about these days and starts to wonder if she has been missing something. With
Reece’s love for his home and a motel that has been in his family for
generations on the line he fights his feeling for Cami. The hard nose executive
only out for his Motel was a lot easier to resist than the friendly, someone
out of her element sexy women he get to know. Will Camille risk her job to be
with Reece or will he sell to keep her? What happens in this book will keep you
turning the pages (or swiping them). What a great ending!
Keep
reading Toni Blake’s series and stand-alone books. She is an amazing writer
with and gives us a depth to the characters that make them
last in our memories.
