Spotlight Post: Blushing Bay Series 1-4 by Annie Rains

About:
For years, Jack Sawyer’s family has been running their upscale seafood business like a finely tuned machine. But every machine breaks down eventually, and suddenly Jack needs a new office manager, a new kayak launch, and a new lease on life. Then Grace Donner shows up again. She’s smart, motivated, and perfect for the manager position, but if she’s anything like her mom, she can’t be trusted. And Jack has never been able to trust himself around Grace.

Grace hasn’t seen her former stepbrothers since their parents’ messy divorce, but she never forgot them—especially Jack. She misses being part of the big rambunctious Sawyer clan, and if there’s an opportunity to set things right, she means to do it. But she can’t ignore Jack’s irresistibly kissable lips, or the searing way he looks at her when he thinks she’s not looking. Their chemistry is more explosive than ever. And if the Sawyers can forgive and forget, anything is possible.

MY Review:

This was a great read for second chance, it was also the first one I’ve read that involve step siblings falling for each other. I was leery at first I wont lie, it seemed like a faux pas, but I am glad I read it. I love the relationships and town, the characters are well written and made me want more. Annie did a great job at making Jack so forgiving and easygoing, very middle child behavior. Grace has such a good heart and I loved the two of them together. With so many issues on both side of their families though I was curious how they would find their HEA. I was thrilled to know this was a four book series and I could know more about their relationship in other books. You will love their journey! As a lover of series books I have to commend Annie on keeping her characters true to who they are in not just their book but the others as well.

About:

Krista Nelson loves being a pediatric nurse. What she doesn’t love is her demanding boss and stressful workload. Fortunately, Krista knows she can count on a waterfront happy hour every Wednesday with her childhood best friend, Noah Sawyer, the one part of her life she never wants to change. But, like it or not, things are changing—because Krista can’t stop wondering what would happen if she grabbed Noah by the collar and kissed him like it was her job.

Bored of the superficial women he’s been dating, Noah’s putting his love life on hold so he can focus on his family’s high-end fishing business. Sure, there are moments when he’s tempted by Krista’s soft lips and killer smile—but her friendship is too important to Noah. How could he let himself jeopardize everything they share? The trouble is, if he doesn’t take the real risk of opening his heart, Noah might just let the perfect catch get away.

My Review:
Krista and Noah, what to say about them. Well first they are my favorite in this series. In book one you meet them and they keep saying they are just friends, nothing more. Yet all their other friends seem to see what they do not. This book made me very happy and irritated at the same time, in good ways. Some of the things Noah does is just head smacking worthy but then Krista has her fair share too. I love books where the characters are fighting so hard against their attraction yet looking for that love in all the wrong places. This store is defensively one of them. There are so many fun parts I can’t name them all. You will not regret reading this wonderful story about how Krista and Noah find their HEA.

About:
Acclaimed chef, Abby Sawyer has been offered a chance to host her own cooking show. The catch is that it involves leaving Blushing Bay, North Carolina. There's nothing left for her in the small coastal town anyway. When she gets locked in her restaurant's basement with her estranged husband, however, she's not going anywhere. And she'll either end up killing or kissing her ex before the night is over.

Even though they've been separated for two years, commercial fisherman Sam Sawyer is devastated when he's served divorce papers. He refuses to sign until he and Abby have talked. Knowing she's alone at her restaurant this weekend, he heads over and finds her downstairs in the basement--just before the door slams shut and locks them in. Being trapped in a cellar means there's nowhere to hide from the secrets they've been harboring. Sam is putting everything on the table tonight, including his heart, and hoping to win Abby back for good.

MY Review:
This is a short read, only took me about an hour because it’s a novela. This book shows that sometimes you need to be forced to realize what you need in your life. Abby and Sam are a sad and at times fun couple you meet in the first two books. They way Sam keeps trying to get his estranged wife’s attention and her repeated rebuffs. You see there is something still there between them but wonder what has caused the problem. Well folks this is the book that reveals it all. You see why they separated and have hope along with them and someway they can get back together. However, if they do will their lives have to change? Buy this one and find out all the answers.

About:
After a rough year, Jillian Maready is overdue for a relaxing weekend getaway. Where better to find that than Blushing Bay, North Carolina where her family vacationed growing up? When she sets sail on her own, however, she ends up stranded on a deserted island in the middle of one of the biggest storms of the summer—and in the arms of her sexy childhood crush.

As part of the Coast Guard Reserve, Gabe Sawyer is used to search and rescues. After learning that his sister’s best friend is in trouble, he doesn’t hesitate to brave the storm to find her. With the raging seas too volatile to navigate back, Gabe is in over his head when he and Jillian must spend one hot summer night surviving the storm together—and giving in to their sizzling attraction. But what happens when the sun comes back out?

MY Review:
Another novela here and it’s featuring cousin Gabe, who we meet in the first book abd hear mentioned in the others. This book a can be read in any order after the first book. I saved it for last not knowing if Gabe was more in the other books, he is not, so feel free to place this one in any order you like. I will be honest and say I wished for more information on Gabe and his niece and sister than was in this one. However I understand needing to keep the information between him and Jillian, who had a crush on him as a kid. Yep another second chance here and it was written beautifully! You will love visiting Blushing Bay so much you might start looking it up on line trying to book a vacation, lol. I definitely would if there was a chance at the kind of love found in all four books. :-)
So go grab this series and start reading, trust me it will be well worth it!
